Drought
The Drought Affected Communities Initiative will help families, health professionals and community leaders across a range of rural and remote drought affected communities.
The key objectives of the initiative are to:
Raise community awareness and support about mental illness, services available and self care activities
Provide education and support to people living in drought affected communities to identify, manage and support mental illness.
Provide referrals to rurual outreach counsellors through community meetings, events and workshops.
Create a network of community support for people living in rural and remote areas via:-
- Running of community days
- Family rejuvenation camps
- Mental Health First Aid
- Pamper days and health checks
