Omeo
The Omeo District is rich in history. Exploring Omeo is rewarding, as all routes are of scenic and historic interest. There are picnic areas and marked tracks - Omeo’s gold rush history is reflected in its splendid old buildings. In the town centre you’ll find the old Log Gaol, circa 1858, the original court house, now housing a local museum, and a fine new Court House, circa 1893. Today’s explorers enjoy Omeo’s scenic mountain vistas while white water rafting, horse riding, bush walking, angling, camping, skiing, four wheel driving, local wineries and galleries.
